What is Psychotherapy, Counselling & Coaching?

Psychotherapy, counselling, and coaching provide a confidential, supportive space to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. While they share the goal of helping you navigate life’s challenges, they differ in approach.

  • Psychotherapy is a depth-focused, longer-term process that explores personal history and recurring patterns to support lasting change. It helps make sense of how past experiences shape present difficulties, such as relationship patterns, low self-worth, anxiety, or depression.
  • Counselling is usually shorter-term and focused on a specific issue or life event, such as bereavement, job loss, divorce, or major transitions, offering support and practical coping strategies.
  • Coaching is future-focused and goal-driven. It works with your strengths and aspirations to create clear, actionable steps forward, whether you’re navigating career challenges, decision-making, or personal growth.

About My Work

I am a UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) accredited psychotherapist and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and AC (Association for Coaching). I completed five years of training at the Metanoia Institute, one of the UK’s leading centres for psychotherapy, and later honed my coaching skills at the Møller Institute, Cambridge University.

Over the past four years, I have worked with clients at Metanoia Clinic in Ealing, The Awareness Centre in Clapham, and Talking Counselling in the City of London, while also volunteering with Advocacy for All, a mental health charity supporting vulnerable individuals.

my Qualifications

  • MSc (Distinction) in Integrative Psychotherapy – Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University
  • Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy – Metanoia Institute
  • Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling – Metanoia Institute
  • Business Coaching Certificate – Møller Institute, Churchill College, University of Cambridge
  • Certificate in Trauma and Building Resilience - The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

Before qualifying as a psychotherapist, I studied law and creative writing at City, University of London, and spent 25 years as a television executive and freelance producer. This experience provided a deep understanding of the pressures and complexities of professional life, offering valuable insight into stress, resilience, and behavioural patterns.
